Make new members accept the rules first

Keep new members out of your channels until they accept the rules, with a PeakBot verification panel or Discord’s own rules screening.

Dashboard → Verification. New members get an unverified role and see nothing until they press your button, so the rules come first. Free.

Set it up with PeakBot

  1. Go to Verification in the dashboard
  2. Write the panel message: your rules, or a link to them, and a button such as "I agree"
  3. Set the verified role members get when they press it
  4. Make your channels visible to the verified role only
  5. Optional: add questions if a button is not enough, auto-kick anyone who has not verified after a set number of hours, and log every attempt to a channel

With Discord's own rules screening

Community servers can turn on rules screening, so new members have to accept your rules before they can talk. See Discord's Rules Screening FAQ. It asks people to agree; PeakBot's verification also controls which channels they can see until they do.
