Moderation
Automatic filters, manual commands, and a record of both.
Last checked August 19, 2026
Filters catch the obvious. AI Moderation catches what a word list cannot. Both write to the same record.
Auto moderation
Dashboard → Auto Moderation. Six filters, each switched on separately.
| Filter | What trips it |
|---|---|
| Anti-Spam | Someone sends more than your threshold inside your time window |
| Invite Filter | A discord.gg link |
| Link Filter | Any link, with an allow list for the domains you want through, and an option to always allow Discord's own media links |
| Word Filter | Your own blocked words, plus profanity and slurs |
| Caps Filter | Shouting past a percentage of the message |
| Mention Spam | One message carrying more than your cap of mentions |
Each filter picks its own action: delete the message, warn, timeout, kick or ban. You can exempt roles and channels from all of it.
Caps Filter and your own custom word list need a Paid plan. The rest of the filters are free.
AI moderation
The filters above match patterns. AI Moderation reads what a message actually means, which is what catches a coded slur or an argument escalating when no blocked word was ever used.
| Feature | What it reads | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| AI Moderation | The meaning of a message, not a word list | Pro |
| AI Image Moderation | The images people post | Pro |
Both are on the Auto Moderation page.
Manual commands
| Command | What it does | Needs |
|---|---|---|
/warn <user> [reason] | Warns a member | Moderate Members |
/timeout <user> <duration> [reason] | Times a member out | Moderate Members |
/kick <user> [reason] | Kicks a member | Kick Members |
/ban <user> [reason] | Bans a member | Ban Members |
/purge [amount] | Deletes recent messages in the channel | Manage Messages |
The member is DMed what happened and why. Add silent: true to skip that. The full argument list and the permission each one needs are in the command reference.
Warnings
Warnings are stored, not just announced. /warnings list shows a member's record, including after they leave, and /warnings remove and /warnings clear edit it. The same record is browsable and searchable on the dashboard.
Logs
Set your log channels on the Auto Moderation page. You can log separately:
- Message edits and deletes
- Joins and leaves
- Voice activity. Needs a Paid plan
- Mod actions: warns, bans, kicks, timeouts and unbans
Channels you would rather not log can be excluded.
