What is Onyx?
Onyx is the AI that builds and configures Discord servers inside PeakBot. You describe the community you want in plain English on the PeakBot dashboard, and it produces the channels, roles, permissions and feature configuration for it, then keeps working on that server through follow-up messages.
How is it different from a server template?
A template is a fixed layout somebody else designed, and applying one to a server that already exists usually means working around what is already there. Onyx reads your existing channels, roles and permissions first and builds for them. It also configures features, which a template cannot do: a template can give you a channel called tickets, but not a working ticket system.
Does it change my server without asking?
No. Onyx writes a plan and shows it to you in full before anything is created. Applying it is a separate, deliberate action. Until you apply, nothing has touched Discord.
Can I use it on a server that already has channels?
Yes, and that is the case it is built for. It reads the existing structure and extends it rather than replacing it. Starting from an empty server works too, it is just the easier half of the problem.
What can it actually configure?
Channels, categories, roles and permissions, plus the settings behind welcome and goodbye messages, moderation and automod, anti-raid and anti-nuke, XP and leveling, tickets, logging, join-to-create voice, invite tracking, reaction roles, polls and onboarding.
Is Onyx free?
The AI Server Builder is part of PeakBot Pro, at $8.25/month or $69/year per server, because it runs on paid AI models. Everything else PeakBot does stays free: moderation, XP and leveling, tickets, welcome and goodbye messages, reaction roles, logging and analytics are all on the free tier with no time limit.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. Free accounts get a set number of AI Builder messages so you can describe a server, see the plan it produces, and judge whether it is any good before deciding. You are looking at the real output, not a demo.
What happens if it gets it wrong?
You see the plan before it runs, so most mistakes get caught while they are still a proposal. Tell it what is wrong in a follow-up message and it revises. Because it works on the plan rather than blindly re-running, correcting one detail does not rebuild everything else.
Which AI model does it use?
Onyx is not a single model call. It classifies what you asked for, resolves it against your actual server, plans the work, and executes it as discrete steps, with the language model used for the parts that genuinely need language. That is why it can configure features rather than only describing them.
Do I need to know anything about Discord permissions?
No, and that is most of the value. Permissions are where self-built servers usually go wrong, especially channels that were meant to be staff-only and are not. Describing who should see what in plain English and letting the plan work out the overrides avoids the common failure.
