The best Tatsu alternatives for leveling are Arcane for free role rewards in a bot used by millions of servers, Lurkr for a no-paywall leveling bot that can import MEE6 data, AmariBot for plain levels with nothing else attached, and ActivityRank if you want voice time, invites and statistics tracked alongside XP. Atlas, MEE6 and PeakBot fit servers that want leveling inside a larger bot. If your members love Tatsu's pets and global economy rather than its leveling, no leveling bot replaces that, and you may want to keep Tatsu.
Facts below come from each bot's own website, documentation, help center or Discord App Directory listing, checked in October 2026.
What Tatsu does
Tatsu's website describes far more than leveling:
- Levels and leaderboards. Members earn XP by chatting, with rank cards and server leaderboards. A May 2026 roadmap letter on Tatsu's official blog says servers "can already set different server XP milestones that reward roles to members".
- A global economy. Currency earned through chat and games, more than 2,000 store items, and trading between users.
- Pets and houses. More than 100 virtual pets to collect, feed and walk, and a house built from more than 1,000 furniture items.
- Profile, rank and wallet cards that members customize with badges and backgrounds.
- A server store where owners sell special roles and custom items.
Tatsu says more than 1,350,000 servers use it, and it is actively developed. Its May 2026 roadmap letter describes a planned "Community Leveling 2.0" with more frequent milestones and new kinds of rewards, plus new activity stats such as voice activity.
Why servers look for a Tatsu alternative
- They only want leveling. Pets, furniture and a global store are fun, but some admins want XP and role rewards without a second game living in the server.
- They want voice activity to count now. Voice activity appears in Tatsu's roadmap as a planned stat. Servers built around voice chat often want a bot that already rewards it today.
- They want to move levels between bots. Servers coming from MEE6, or planning to leave a bot later, care about import and export.
- They want leveling next to moderation. Some owners prefer one bot for XP, logs and moderation rather than several.

Arcane
Arcane's App Directory listing calls it a leveling and XP bot first ("Tired of paid mee6 role rewards? We got em for free!"), with extra plugins for logging, reaction roles and statistic channels. Its website adds moderation, custom commands and member count channels. It is listed in about 3.09 million servers.
Best for: servers that want proven leveling with free role rewards and a few useful extras. Our Arcane vs Tatsu comparison covers the two head to head.
Lurkr
Lurkr calls itself "the ultimate no-paywall and featureful leveling bot". Its documentation includes role rewards, multipliers, leveling automation, leaderboards and a guide to importing levels from other bots. That guide lists MEE6 imports as supported for both levels and role rewards, Polaris as manual only, and Amari as currently unavailable because Amari's API was taken down.
Lurkr's premium raises limits rather than locking whole features. Patreon supporters get, for example, 10 reward roles per level instead of 3 and 25 multipliers instead of 5. Lurkr's docs say server perks come from donating over $5 on Patreon. It is listed in about 66,600 servers.
Best for: admins who want deep leveling settings for free and may bring levels over from MEE6.
AmariBot
AmariBot describes itself in one line: "The simple Discord Leveling System, No Bloat Just Levels." It is listed in about 322,000 servers.
Best for: servers that want leveling and nothing else, and like a bot that stays out of the way.
Note: Lurkr's docs say Amari's API has been taken down, so plan on Amari data staying in Amari if you ever switch again.
ActivityRank
ActivityRank is a lightweight level, XP, role and statistics bot. Its FAQ lists the activity it tracks: text messages, voice time, invites and likes, plus bonus XP that admins can give or take. Members get roles automatically at the levels you set, and stats are kept for daily, weekly and monthly periods. Its code is public on GitHub, and its site says it is trusted by over 100,000 communities. It is listed in about 126,000 servers.
Best for: voice-heavy servers and admins who want activity statistics, not just a rank.
Atlas
Atlas lists "levels, tickets, moderation, suggestions, a web dashboard and more". Its levels plugin covers XP, ranks, leaderboards, rank cards and role rewards, and its documentation states that voice XP is an Atlas Prime (premium) feature. It is listed in about 178,000 servers.
Best for: servers that want leveling, tickets and suggestions from one dashboard.
MEE6
MEE6 is the most widely added bot here, listed in about 20.9 million servers, and it covers leveling, moderation, reaction roles and social alerts. Check the price first, though: MEE6's own free-versus-premium comparison in its help center lists "XP and Levels" as a Premium feature, not a free one.
Best for: servers already paying for MEE6 Premium. For a direct comparison, see Tatsu vs MEE6.
PeakBot
PeakBot is an all-in-one bot, and leveling is one module among moderation, tickets, welcome messages, verification and analytics. On the free plan it gives message XP with a minimum and maximum per message, a cooldown against spam, level roles that either stack or replace the previous one, level-up messages in a channel you choose, excluded channels, and /rank and /leaderboard. Voice XP, channel and role multipliers, XP decay, and importing or exporting the leaderboard need a paid plan, starting with Starter at $5.75/month.
Best for: servers that want leveling plus moderation and tickets from one dashboard.
Trade-off: there are no pets, no global economy and no profile or wallet cards like Tatsu's, and voice XP is not free. The XP and leveling guide lists every setting.
What none of these replace
If your members mostly use Tatsu for its pets, house building or global store, a leveling bot will feel like a downgrade. For a currency and shop that your server controls, look at per-server economy bots such as Mimu or UnbelievaBoat instead. Many servers keep Tatsu for the fun layer and add a leveling bot only if they need features Tatsu does not offer yet.
How to switch without upsetting your most active members
- Screenshot the leaderboard. Before changing anything, save Tatsu's current server leaderboard so long-time members' standing is on record.
- Rebuild role rewards first. Recreate your level roles in the new bot, and drag the new bot's role above every role it hands out, or rewards will silently fail.
- Decide how to treat old ranks. If the new bot cannot import Tatsu data, grant your top members their earned roles by hand or give a "veteran" role so nobody feels reset.
- Turn off Tatsu's level-up messages before you enable the new bot's, so members do not get two announcements for every level-up.
FAQ
Is Tatsu still active in 2026?
Yes. Tatsu says more than 1,350,000 servers use it, and its May 2026 roadmap letter lays out a planned Community Leveling 2.0 update.
What is the best free alternative to Tatsu for leveling?
Arcane and Lurkr both offer free role rewards, and Lurkr's Patreon tiers raise limits rather than unlocking features. ActivityRank is a good free option if you want voice time and statistics tracked.
Can I import my Tatsu levels into another bot?
The bots here document imports from MEE6 and some other bots rather than from Tatsu, so plan to record your leaderboard and restore key roles by hand.
Does MEE6 have free leveling?
Not as of 2026. MEE6's help center comparison lists XP and Levels as a Premium feature.
Which leveling bots count voice chat?
ActivityRank tracks voice time, and Atlas offers voice XP on its Atlas Prime plan. Among all-in-one bots, check whether voice XP is free or paid before you switch, since several put it on a paid tier.
