Key Takeaways
  • UnbelievaBoat describes itself as "the best customisable economy and game bot", and the word that matters is customisable.
  • These are the real reasons, most of them documented by UnbelievaBoat itself:
  • Before comparing bots, decide which kind of economy you want, because it changes the whole list.
  • Mimu's App Directory listing describes a per-server currency economy, a shop system, full customization, autoresponders and custom commands, and welcome and leave messages, all in a cute, aesthetic style.
  • Dank Memer calls itself "the largest in-app indie game on Discord", with a global currency, fishing, pets, skill trees and item collecting.
  • Moving an economy is a social change as much as a technical one.

The best UnbelievaBoat alternatives are Mimu if you want a simple per-server currency and shop, Tatsu if you want a server store on top of a cross-server economy with pets and profiles, MEE6 if you already pay for MEE6 Premium, and YAGPDB if you are willing to build a custom economy yourself. Dank Memer and OwO are popular too, but they are global games, not economies a server owner controls, and that difference matters more than any feature list.

Facts below come from each bot's own site, documentation, help center or Discord App Directory listing, checked in October 2026.

What UnbelievaBoat does well

UnbelievaBoat describes itself as "the best customisable economy and game bot", and the word that matters is customisable. Each server runs its own economy:

  • Cash and bank balances with deposit and withdraw, and a leaderboard
  • Income commands such as work, crime and rob, plus role income that pays members for holding a role
  • A store where admins create items, and items can carry actions and requirements
  • Games including blackjack, roulette, higher-lower and russian roulette
  • Some moderation commands (warn, kick, a muted role and a mod log)

On the free plan the store holds 25 items and each item can have 2 actions and 2 requirements. Premium makes the item limit unlimited, allows 5 actions and 5 requirements per item, extends message logging from the last 25 to the last 100 messages per channel, and gives a 30% discount on role income slots, according to UnbelievaBoat's own premium FAQ.

Why people look for an alternative

These are the real reasons, most of them documented by UnbelievaBoat itself:

  • Premium became a subscription. UnbelievaBoat's FAQ says that in mid-2025 premium switched from a one-time purchase to a subscription. The FAQ keeps a separate section for owners who paid once, and going forward premium is only available as a recurring payment.
  • The 25-item store fills up. Servers with seasonal items, color roles and event tickets hit the free limit quickly.
  • Premium runs as a separate bot. UnbelievaBoat's FAQ explains that your data moves to a premium bot when you upgrade, which is one more step in setup.
  • Betting games come with it. UnbelievaBoat's game commands include blackjack, roulette and russian roulette. Communities that want an economy without betting look for something calmer.
  • Members want a game, not a bank. Sometimes the community wants pets, fishing or battles, and a bank-and-store economy is not what they were after.

The key question: global or per-server?

Before comparing bots, decide which kind of economy you want, because it changes the whole list.

Per-server economyGlobal game economy

If you used UnbelievaBoat to sell roles, pay staff or run server events, you need a per-server economy. If your members only played the games, a global game bot may make them happier.

Per-server economy alternatives

Mimu

Mimu's App Directory listing describes a per-server currency economy, a shop system, full customization, autoresponders and custom commands, and welcome and leave messages, all in a cute, aesthetic style. Its site adds that it includes crisis hotline information. It is listed in about 4.05 million servers.

Best for: social and aesthetic servers that want currency and a role shop in a cute style.

Trade-off: Mimu's charm is its look and simplicity. Servers that need item actions and requirements as detailed as UnbelievaBoat's should test the shop setup before switching.

Tatsu

Tatsu mixes two layers. Its website describes a global economy (earn currency by chatting and playing games, over 2,000 store items, trading between users), virtual pets, house building, and profile, rank and wallet cards. It also lets server owners "create your own store" to sell special roles and custom items to their members, and it runs leveling and leaderboards. The site says more than 1,350,000 servers use it.

Best for: communities that want leveling, profiles and a role store in one bot, with a fun global layer on top.

Trade-off: the global economy is shared across Discord, so it is not a closed system you fully control the way UnbelievaBoat's is.

MEE6 Economy

MEE6 has an Economy plugin where members earn coins with /daily, /work and games, then spend them on roles and items in a store of up to 300 items. MEE6's own free-versus-premium comparison lists the Economy plugin as Premium only, so it makes sense mainly for servers that already pay for MEE6.

Best for: servers already on MEE6 Premium that want one fewer bot.

YAGPDB

YAGPDB is not a ready-made economy bot. It is a general-purpose bot with a custom command system and a built-in database for custom commands, and server owners use those to build their own currency, shop and rewards. It is listed in about 3.59 million servers.

Best for: technical admins who want total control and are happy writing and maintaining scripts.

Trade-off: you build and debug everything yourself. If nobody on your team enjoys that, pick Mimu or Tatsu instead.

Global game alternatives

Dank Memer

Dank Memer calls itself "the largest in-app indie game on Discord", with a global currency, fishing, pets, skill trees and item collecting. It is free to play with optional purchases. Members keep their progress across every server, which players like and admins cannot control.

OwO

OwO is a global hunting and battling game with its own currency, cowoncy, and gambling commands. It is a game for members to play, not an economy for you to run.

Both are great if your members only used UnbelievaBoat's games. Neither replaces a role shop or staff payroll. Our UnbelievaBoat vs Dank Memer comparison goes deeper on that split.

How to switch without upsetting your members

Moving an economy is a social change as much as a technical one. Members have saved up balances and items.

  1. Announce a date. Give members a week's notice and explain why you are switching.
  2. Snapshot the leaderboard. Screenshot UnbelievaBoat's leaderboard before you remove it, so you can award starting balances or a "founding member" role fairly in the new bot.
  3. Rebuild the store first. Recreate your role items in the new bot before you announce, and check that the bot's own role sits above any role it sells, or purchases will fail.
  4. Run both for a few days. Keep UnbelievaBoat in read-only mode (remove its permissions in your main channels) while members try the new bot.
  5. Remove the old bot last. Kick it only once the new store, income and leaderboard work.

FAQ

Is UnbelievaBoat still free?

Yes, the core bot is free. The free store is limited to 25 items, and premium, which since mid-2025 is a subscription, removes that limit and adds more item actions and requirements.

What is the best free alternative to UnbelievaBoat?

For a per-server currency and shop, Mimu is the simplest free option to try. YAGPDB is free and more powerful, but you build the economy yourself with custom commands.

Can I move UnbelievaBoat balances to another bot?

There is no general one-click transfer between economy bots. The fair approach is to snapshot the leaderboard and grant starting balances or roles manually in the new bot.

Does MEE6 have an economy like UnbelievaBoat?

Yes, MEE6 has an Economy plugin with coins, /daily, /work and a store of up to 300 items, but MEE6 lists it as a Premium feature.

Is Dank Memer a good UnbelievaBoat replacement?

Only if your members mostly played the games. Dank Memer's currency is global, so you cannot use it to sell your own server roles or reward your own events.
