Yes, the real RoVer is safe. It is a verified Discord app listed in about 490,000 servers in Discord's App Directory (October 2026), it is free, and RoVer states it will never ask for your Roblox password. The thing to watch for is fake RoVer sites and bots: the only official website is rover.link, and the real bot's Discord ID is 298796807323123712.

Below is how Roblox verification bots like RoVer, Bloxlink and RoWifi actually work, what they can and cannot see, and a short checklist for verifying without putting your account at risk.

What RoVer is

RoVer describes itself as a way to "integrate your Discord server with Roblox": account verification, unlimited role bindings and nickname syncing. You link your Roblox account once, and RoVer keeps your roles and nickname in sync in every server that uses it. Its homepage says it is "completely free" with no paywalls, ads or upsells, and it is run by Imaginary Menagerie, LLC.

RoVer also changed how your account is shared. Under its username privacy rules, you now have to grant a server access before that server (or a bot) can see which Roblox account you linked. Being verified with RoVer "no longer automatically means every server they're in can see which Roblox account they are." You can grant or revoke a server's access at any time with the /privacy command.

How Roblox verification bots work

All the major Roblox verification bots follow the same basic pattern.

1. You prove you own a Roblox account. There are three common ways to do this:

  • Sign in with Roblox. You log in on Roblox's own site and approve the app. Roblox's developer docs describe this OAuth 2.0 flow as letting you grant a third-party app permissions "without giving them your credentials." RoVer and RoWifi both send you through Roblox to authenticate. RoVer's help pages note that Roblox does not let accounts in its under-13 mode sign in to other applications, which is the usual cause of the "You are not allowed to use this application" error.
  • Join a verification game. You play a specific Roblox experience with your account, which proves you control it. Bloxlink's site lists this as one of its methods.
  • Put a code in your profile. You paste a short code into your Roblox profile description so the bot can read it publicly. Bloxlink offers this too.

2. The bot links that Roblox account to your Discord account. From then on it can look up public Roblox details about you, like your username, group ranks, badges and gamepasses.

3. The bot gives you Discord roles and a nickname. The server sets up "binds" such as "group rank Sergeant gets the Sergeant role", and the bot applies them. To do that it needs Discord's Manage Roles and Manage Nicknames permissions, and its own role has to sit above the roles it hands out, because Discord does not let anyone manage a role at or above their own position.

What none of these methods give the bot is your Roblox password. If a page that claims to be a verification bot asks for it, you are not on the real thing.

Is RoVer safe? A quick checklist

Use this before you verify, whether the bot is RoVer or anything else:

  • Is the website rover.link? RoVer says this is its only official site. Copies on other domains exist, and new ones appear regularly.
  • Is the bot's ID 298796807323123712? Turn on Developer Mode (User Settings, then Advanced), right-click the bot and choose Copy User ID to check.
  • Did the link come from the server, not a DM? Use the server's own verify channel or button.
  • Are you being asked for your password? RoVer says the real bot never will. Its tip: sign in to Roblox in your browser first, so you never see a login form during verification at all.
  • Is anyone asking you to download something or paste text into your browser? No verification flow needs that. Close it.

If you find a fake RoVer website, RoVer suggests reporting it to Google Safe Browsing, to Cloudflare if the site uses it, and to the domain's registrar. Fake bots and servers should be reported to Discord.

All three are legitimate, verified apps. They differ in features and in how you prove account ownership, not in whether they are trustworthy.

What a verification bot can and cannot see

Once you verify, the bot knows which Roblox account is yours and can read the public parts of it: username, display name, group memberships and ranks, and items like badges or gamepasses that a bind checks for. In RoVer's case, a server only sees your Roblox account after you grant it access.

Inside Discord, the bot also gets the baseline data Discord gives every bot in a server, such as usernames, avatars, nicknames and roles. You can see what a specific bot has been granted by opening its profile in the server on desktop and clicking the Data Access tab.

It does not get your Roblox password, your Discord password, or your private messages with other people.

How to undo it

  • Hide your Roblox account from one server: run /privacy with RoVer and revoke that server's access.
  • Unlink a RoWifi account: RoWifi's docs list /account delete.
  • Remove a bot's access to your Discord account: open User Settings, then Authorized Apps, and remove the app.

If you ever entered your password on a fake page, change your Roblox password straight away from a device you trust, turn on Roblox's 2-step verification, and contact Roblox support if you have lost access.

Tips for server owners

  • Add RoVer, Bloxlink or RoWifi from its official site or Discord's App Directory, never from a link someone sent you.
  • Pin a message in your verify channel that names the official website and tells members to ignore verification links sent by DM. Discord's own safety advice is to disregard any bot that DMs you a link or an offer.
  • Keep the bot's role above the roles it assigns but below your moderator roles.
  • Only create the binds you need. Every bind is another role the bot has to manage.

Frequently asked questions

Is RoVer a scam?

No. The real RoVer is a free, verified Discord app used by hundreds of thousands of servers. Scams use RoVer's name on fake sites. Check that you are on rover.link and that the bot's ID is 298796807323123712.

Does RoVer need my Roblox password?

No. RoVer says it will never ask for your password. When you sign in with Roblox, you log in on Roblox's own site and approve access there.

Can RoVer see my Roblox account in every server I join?

Not any more. Under RoVer's consent rules, each server has to be granted access before it can see which Roblox account you linked. You control this with /privacy.

Why does Roblox say "You are not allowed to use this application"?

RoVer's help page explains that Roblox blocks accounts in its under-13 mode from signing in to other applications, and that Discord itself requires users to be at least 13. If the birthday on your Roblox account is wrong, only Roblox can change it.

Yes. The official Bloxlink is at blox.link and is a verified app in about 1.62 million servers. The same rules apply: use the official site, check the bot is the real one, and never give your password to a page that is not roblox.com.
